The Saar Polygon is a 30-meter steel sculpture crowning the Duhamel spoil heap between Ensdorf and Saarlouis - a monument to the end of coal mining in the Saarland.
Its angular, walk-in form changes shape completely depending on your vantage point. Climb the internal stairs to a viewing platform for a sweeping panorama over the former mining landscape, especially striking at sunset when the steel is lit.
